Jachin grew up in Asbury Park, NJ. We began meeting with Jachin a couple years before he moved into the Lion’s Gate House. He loves basketball and is a huge Boston Celtics fan. Jachin’s heart and life have been transformed and we are proud of him for working full time with the Youth Justice Commission. He works as a youth advocate and has been recognized multiple times for his exceptional work and achievements.

Ernesto grew up in Perth Amboy, NJ. We met and started working with him several years ago. He has a gift to make you smile and laugh when you are with him. Ernesto was drawn to barbering and he became our first Causemetology scholarship recipient. Last year he graduated from barbering school and desires to open his own shop someday. We are excited for all the good things happening in Ernesto’s life including his recent engagement.

Jorge grew up in Mexico before immigrating to the US as a child. We had the opportunity to work with him for a few years leading up to his residency at Lion’s Gate Ministries. Jorge enjoys cooking and we celebrated when he became a graduate of the Promise Culinary School, officially becoming a licensed chef. He has worked as a chef, helps manage his family’s cafe, and is currently on a path to opening a restaurant business of his own.

Brandon grew up in Perth Amboy, NJ. After reconnecting with him, he began a mentoring relationship with us before moving into the Lion’s Gate House. Brandon enjoys basketball and spending time with his brothers. He is excited to be nearing completion of his Associate’s Degree. He currently interns with the Youth Justice Commission and is regularly asked to travel at conferences concerning the issues of juvenile justice and recidivism.
